This is Book One of The Torah Series for Tweens. The book begins with the Creation Story and ends with The Story of Yaqub's (Jacob's) sons. The stories are related as closely to context and the true accounts as possible. Hebrew words are introduced, with meanings, and reinforced with repetition throughout the text. It is important for children to learn the meanings of the Hebrew words and the ideas behind them as they were originally written. The English language at times cannot reveal the full meaning behind the Hebrew. This book is designed to be used by 3rd-4th graders, 10-12 year olds, but can easily be shared with younger children. Colorful pictures, family trees and a "Words to Remember" section is included for review of new vocabulary words. It is my experience that children will remember these stories better by doing something tangible that relates to the story. After reading a story, have them tell it to you by encouraging your children to act out the stories using regular household items for props, including clothes and animals made from paper. For older children, encourage shoe box dioramas and painting scenes on rocks or canvas. Baruk Haba Bashem Yahuah , Blessed is He who comes in the Name of Yahuah!
